The Black & Gold Standard is a VandyRadio sports blog featuring nuanced commentary and advanced statistical breakdowns following Vanderbilt men’s basketball games and throughout the year. Robbie Weinstein of The Homefield Advantage will be bringing you the best analysis of Commodore basketball as the team looks to build on the success of last season’s NIT appearance. Check out The Black & Gold Standard for all kinds of new content as the Dores fight through the 2015-16 schedule. All stats courtesy of KenPom.com unless otherwise noted.

Here are my final seedings before the NCAA Tournament bracket is revealed. There are legitimate arguments for Vanderbilt over any of the last six at-large teams in the field, so although I have the Dores out I think there’s roughly a 40-50% chance VU is in. The committee has made it clear that they are out to pick the best at-large teams rather than the 36 most deserving, and this plays into Vandy’s hands. I could even see a scenario where the Dores avoid the First Four altogether, but I couldn’t quite put them in the field when comparing the teams myself. It’s very possible that the committee is convinced VU is one of the 36 best teams available for at-large spots, and those last few teams are all extremely close. My actual bracket is below the seedings.
